Evaluating your expenses, bank fees and commissions ASSOCIATION SELF
The vast majority of citizens have their money in large banks or savings banks. Unfortunately most of them, and more in times of crisis, excessive amounts in fees charged either when withdrawing money, in the management of our banking products or many other concepts.
Today we seriously consider how you treat your bank. Take a blank sheet of paper and copy the last statement from your bank account . Let's see how the fees are costing you and see if you can do something about it.
first copy sheet of paper at one of the charges on your card than a purchase, together with the amount . Leave enough white space to the right so we can make some calculations. If you earn interest on the account, include that amount as well.
When finished, add up all these costs (do not include any accrued interest, are going to treat separately) and discover what it costs you your account month. The first time I did this, I discovered I was losing 20 € monthly small fee. The rates seem small, but when I added them all, I was stunned.
Want even more surprised? Multiply the total by twelve and see what you are taking each year . You should also add 2.5% more, which is what could be earning in a year saving money. In my case, I calculated a total of 300 € that the bank was charging me for me to make their own investments.
So what can you do? If the charges appear on your savings account, check out other savings accounts like ING Orange Account Direct or account Openbank for example. Both are free of charge and you get a high interest rate (currently are 3%). I went from making about 0.5% in my savings account, with occasional office duties, to earn a 4.5% rate without charge.
If your current account charges appear, check out some credit. Credit unions usually have very strong current account without hardly rates, although these may vary. I found a credit union that I was carrying any rate offered the same services as my bank, the rate was only when I used the credit card in an ATM that was not the entity, and was even very small. Probably now spending € 10 a year in fees instead of 300 €. In Spain, these cooperatives are almost any Caja Rural and other savings banks like Caja de Ingenieros , Box Bar and other professional groups. SOURCE
As you can see, this article is from last year, although this effect these days, do not stop checking the day to day updates.
Furthermore, and paradoxically, to impose a tax banks and savings, impacting end users of the same and gracefully, it is agreed by the authorities, so .............. who is to pay those taxes to the banks?.
